How to set up your Galaxy S23 using Fast Pair
Fast Pair is a feature on Android devices that allows you to pair Bluetooth accessories like earbuds and smartwatches without having to manually set them up. This feature can also be used to set up your new Galaxy S23.
To set up your Galaxy S23 with Fast Pair:
1Switch on your new Galaxy S23
2Bring your old device close to your new one. It can be any smartphone running Android 10 or newer
3Ensure that Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are both activated on your old device
4You will see a Fast Pair popup notification on your old device saying “Set up Galaxy S23." Tap Set up
5A QR scanner will open on your old device. Scan the QR code that will appear on the screen of your Galaxy S23
6Choose whether you want to add an eSIM. Tap either Use QR code to add eSIM or Skip
7Choose whether to copy apps and data. Tap either Next or Don’t copy
8If you are transferring from a non-Galaxy device, you will be prompted to download Smart Switch on your old device. Follow the on-screen instructions
9On your S23, tap Allow on the Smart Switch screen
10Choose whether you want to Transfer wirelessly or Use a cable instead
11Your phone will search for available data. Select what you want to transfer – Everything; Just calls, contacts and messages; or Custom – then tap Next
12Tap Accept on the Google Services privacy page
13Select the kind of lock screen you want to use on your S23
14Choose whether you want to set up Google Assistant or Skip this step
15Select the Samsung apps that you want to install
16Tap Finish
